I joined Kidneys for Life in September 2020 which was certainly a strange time in all our lives but I was made to feel welcome by all the lovely supporters I spoke to. At that time I was mainly office based, talking lots on
the phone and exchanging a fair few emails! Following my previous career as Cabin Crew I was really excited about expanding my role and as time has gone on I have been lucky to be out and about more and more meeting lots of our wonderful supporters. Skydives, Abseils, Santa Dashes, Gala Dinner and Afternoon teas to name
just a few of the events I have been involved over the last 2 years and I can honestly say that each and every one of the supporters I have met have been brave, enthusiastic and super generous.
It has also been such a learning experience for me and I have learnt so much about patient’s journeys and stories which consistently gives me the incentive to plan events and fundraise for the vital research needed. I have also taken part in a couple of our events. Last October my daughter, Holly and I took part in the Firewalk which was an
epic experience. It just goes to show that if you put your mind to it you can do anything!
Going forward into I am very excited about all the planned events; we have and also have school visits
planned to help share the story of Kidneys for Life and why we need to raise the vital funds.
