As we come to the end what has been another challenging year, we’ve taken the time to review what’s happened over what has been an eventful past twelve months.
We began the year with Fit February which not only increased our fitness but also started the year off well with over £3500 raised by our brilliant team. And, not only did our group raise money and their fitness levels – they also motivated each other through sharing their achievements on our Fit February Facebook group. It really was great way to all keep our spirits high in the dark February days! We look forward to running this event again in 2022 so do get in touch if you’d like to find out more or register.
As the year progressed we were fortunate to be able to hold several KFL events and these raised a fantastic amount of money for our work to continue. They included 2 Skydive days, a Summer cycle, the Peel Tower abseil and very recently the Marple Santa Dash.
As always our supporters haven’t let us down and have planned their own events including white collar boxing, marathon walking and head shaving to name just a few. Our supporters are definitely an inventive group of people.
2021 also marked the return of the marathons and runs. We were completely overwhelmed with the dedication and generosity of all our runners and their supporters this year.
Also, a huge THANK YOU to everyone who made a Christmas donation or bought Christmas cards from us – in fact you bought so much that many of our Christmas card designs sold out!
The kindness that many have shown in so many ways has been truly remarkable.
Which leads us nicely into sharing the news that Kidneys for Life have just been able to provide funding for 12 small research grants – details of all the projects can be found on our website.
Funding for these projects is only possible with your generous donations – thank you again for you being such wonderful supporters of Kidneys for Life – together we will make a difference!
We’ll feedback on our research projects in 2022 but if you have specific queries, please do get in touch.
So for now, all it remains to say is have a wonderful Christmas and we wish you a happy and healthy 2022.
With very best wishes,
Victoria, Penny and the KFL Trustees
